I film che faranno un testa a testa con "Marriage Story" in questa importante categoria sono "The Irishman", "1917", "Joker" e "I due papi". Per quanto riguarda la televisione, "Big Little Lies", "The Crown", "Killing Eve", "The Morning Show" e "Succession" combatteranno per la migliore serie televisiva drammatica, con le star di "Big Little Lies" Nicole Kidman e Reese Witherspoon nominate entrambe come migliore attrice in un ruolo da protagonista insieme a Jennifer Aniston, Olivia Colman e Jodie Comer. Brian Cox, Kit Harington, Rami Malek, Tobias Menzies e Billy Porter sono invece nominati per la migliore interpretazione in una serie televisiva drammatica.
