Tempo di rivincita non solo in campo musicale, grazie alle ultime hit di Shakira e Miley Cyrus, ma anche in quello cinematografico. Dopo il trionfo di The Fabelmans e Gli spiriti dell’isola ai Golden Globes 2023, Everything Everywhere All at Once si è rifatto ai Critics Choice Awards 2023, dove ha portato a casa ben 5 premi, tra cui quello di miglior film dell’anno.
Tempo di riscatto pure per Brendan Fraser. La star de La mummia ha conquistato l’award di miglior attore per la sua interpretazione in The Whale e diventa così uno dei favoriti per la notte degli Oscar, insieme ad Austin Butler di Elvis e Colin Farrell de Gli spiriti dell’isola, ieri sera usciti "sconfitti". Il Critics Choice Award di miglior attrice è invece andato a Cate Blanchett per Tár.
Nelle categorie televisive la parte del leone l’ha fatta Better Call Saul, lo spin-off di Breaking Bad che per la sua stagione conclusiva ha ottenuto 3 premi, tra cui quello di miglior serie drama dell’anno. Il premio di Miglior serie comedy se l’è aggiudicato Abbott Elementary.
Zendaya è riuscita a fare doppietta. Dopo aver conquistato il Golden Globe giusto la scorsa settimana, è stata premiata come miglior attrice in una serie drama anche ai Critics Choice Awards per la sua (giustamente) acclamata interpretazione in Euphoria. Pure in questo caso non ha però potuto partecipare alla cerimonia a causa di impegni lavorativi già presi.
Tra gli altri premiati anche Daniel Radcliffe, Amanda Seyfried, Jeremy Allen White, Janelle Monáe e Jeff Bridges, che ha ricevuto l’award alla carriera.
